Inktober Day 14 Empty

That empty feeling of catching no finger.

A classic kids game and rhyme from the Philippines. Depending where you are, the lyrics of the song varies. The game is pretty simple, the "it" sits on the ground [optional], holds one hand out with palm open, like a trap. Covers eyes with other hand. The other kids put a finger on the "it"'s open palm and sing the song. The "it" then chooses the right moment to close their hand, hopefully catching a finger.

This is the one I grew up with, which I shockingly remember the words with ease.

Rough translation:
Pen, pen de sarapen
Knife from store
How is the water buffalo?
Stinks!

I recently acquired this book:
"A Study of Philippine Games" by Mellie Leandicho Lopez, second edition 2001. And this drawing is the first time I referenced the book, which gives waaay more info that I am not including.
