Kaboom / Inktober 52

ABOUT THE DRAWING

During New Year's Eve, my siblings and I played with kanyon kawayan or "Bamboo cannons" to bring in the new year with a bang or kaboom, in this case. There are a handful of different approaches; ours filled one bamboo end with kerosene gas, heating it up to build up the explosive sound. Not the safest activity, and losing some eyebrows were common when backfires occurred and fire/smoke shot out of the keyhole.

Learn more about Inktober!

This is my first one of the year!

I first learned of it last year in October and participated in its original drawing challenge of 31 drawings for each day of the month following a prompt. Long story short, it has been a busy first half of 2023 with different drawings and projects; however, I missed and enjoyed the structure Inktober provided me. I am no less busy, but I feel incorporating this exercise into my routine is a nice anchoring and relaxing activity.

DRAWING MATERIAL
Black India Ink, Pen Nib.
White cardstock postcard template, 4x6 inch

GIVEAWAY

I post these drawings on the blog and on Instagram and thought to give these drawings/postcards away to people who follow me. It has been a day since I posted, and no takers yet, but no worries.

The idea is to snail mail the original postcard via USPS postage stamp, which is good pretty much anywhere in the USA.
