Inktober Day 16 Fowl

The Sarimanok, a mythical bird from the Philippines - specifically in Mindanao [southern part of the country], and more specifically the Maranao people.

A symbol of good fortune, it's full of color - something I tried to convey with pattern/details being a pen & ink drawing.

Sari = assorted [colors]
Manok = chicken

Small kid time: when my siblings and I played the board game Monopoly, we nicknamed the $500 gold bills "sarimanok". Having a fat stack of this meant business was booming, and thankful for the good fortune - followed by trash talking.
